VICKY M. MITCHELL – SENIOR SECURITY SPECIALIST

Vicky Mitchell

 

Vicky M. Mitchell retired in May 2016 after 27 years of experience in the federal personnel security arena. She served at the Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF) in successive roles: Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist, Deputy Chief, and most recently, Branch Chief.

At the time of her retirement, Ms. Mitchell supervised four team chiefs and 26 adjudicators at DoD CAF. She provided oversight and guidance on due process issues, and was the reviewing authority on DoD cases requiring psychological evaluations. Ms. Mitchell is a subject matter expert in adjudication of security clearance cases. She has extensive expertise in the application of the various Executive Orders and policies that govern security clearance due process government-wide.

Prior to her tenure at DoD CAF, Ms. Mitchell was an adjudicator at the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals (DOHA), where she rose to the position of Deputy Chief Security Specialist and supervised 30 adjudicators. Ms. Mitchell also previously served in various positions at the Defense Security Service.
